We all come from many different places and spaces, seeking ways to make a positive impact on our world. As international school leaders, we may have insights into differing vistas, ideas and motivations. In my daily work, at school, I am constantly being fascinated by the ideas and actions of young people, some of them only 3 years old (36 months) and yet others at the end of their 15 years of formal education. It is from this point and moment in time that I wish for a 2020 that is open, embracing and intentional to include others who can see differing ways to live a more peaceful and purposely fulfilling life. If not, we end up living only in the “concept we have created for ourselves” (Elia Suleiman) and, in doing so, risk missing the possibilities for a whole lot more!
